Free Program on Gas and Electrical Emergencies

January 21, 2026 — BNN invites you to join Community Emergency Response (CERT) members, neighborhood volunteers and others to learn what to do when there’s a gas or electrical hazard. This program will be held on Wednesday, January 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Maple Room at the Burlingame Community Center, 850 Burlingame Ave. in Burlingame.

Frank Fraone, a public safety specialist with PG&E, will explain topics including:

  • How to identify utility hazards and risks
  • How to recognize an emergency
  • The National Pipeline Mapping System
  • Do’s and don’ts at the scene
  • Making contact with energized sources
  • Secondary ignition sources
