Dear Drill Lead,
Planning for Burlingame’s Disaster Response Drill is well underway! Here’s an update to keep everyone on the same page.
- The Drill Walk-Through will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thurs. September 17 to show drill leads and anyone interested how to do the drill and receive drill kits with all the supplies needed. Those who have kits from past years will receive refresher supplies.
- The Communications Workshop, held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thurs. September 24, teaches participants how to relay messages during the drill and how to call for help. It is primarily for drill leads, each neighborhood’s communications lead, and FRS and Ham radio operators. There will also be hands-on instruction on using Zello.
- A Zello training Zoom meeting will be offered from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sun. September 27. If you’d like to attend, please email Rik Kasuga at [email protected].
- If you would like a mentor to help you organize or lead your first drill, please reach out to us at [email protected] before September 17. We will match you with an experienced drill lead to assist you at the drill on October 3.
