Burlingame teens are invited to become “Grand-Friends” to local seniors and help create an Intergenerational Cookbook filled with treasured recipes. The project, led by volunteers with the Burlingame Collaborative, is designed to reduce isolation and build new connections between generations.
Local teens representing Burlingame schools and the Burlingame Youth Advisory Committee will be matched with seniors who are current or former residents of Burlingame to create a digital book filled with favorite recipes and brief biographical sketches of the seniors. Printed copies of the cookbook will be available for sale, with all proceeds donated to a community organization selected by the tends.
The interviews will be conducted during March. To sign up or ask a question, contact email@example.com or text 650-762-9807.
The Burlingame Collaborative is a volunteer group of citizens businesses, faith organizations, and City Council and city representatives whose goal is to support the community in responding to challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
